The Soft Tissue Mechanics Lab works to quantify the mechanical behavior of biological tissues, bioengineered scaffolds, and synthetic tissue analogs such as silicones. This information can be used to understand the reaction of this tissue to a variety of external inputs, from simluated surgery to motor vehicle crashes.
