Welcome to the MTR Laboratory

The Musculoskeletal Tissue Regeneration (MTR) Laboratory is a part of the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (SBES). The MTR Laboratory is located in the ICTAS Building on the campus of Virginia Tech. We primarily focus on the repair and regeneration of tissue, mainly musculoskeletal tissue, through the use of tissue engineering techniques. We also investigate mechanisms of tissue damage and healing, and molecular modeling of structural proteins.

The MTR Laboratory is also a part of Virginia Tech's Bio-Based Materials Center (BBMC), a part of the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS).

ICTAS Building

The ICTAS Building is located at the corner of Stanger and Turner Streets in Blacksburg, Virginia, and it is the headquarters of ICTAS and the new home of SBES.
